2. The Los Angeles Lakers’ remaining schedule is doable

The Los Angeles Lakers do not have the easiest road remaining in the season but do have a road that is more than manageable for the team and should lead to positive results. Of course, you never know what is going to happen in basketball but the Lakers should be positive heading into the second half.

We picked out 11 games that the Lakers should win. Of course, they won’t win all of them, but the team should at worst go 8-3 in these remaining games.

These games are against the New Orleans Pelicans, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Memphis Grizzlies, Washington Wizards, Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Clippers and Phoenix Suns. We will say they go 8-3 in these games.

Then we have what I am dubbing the “in between games”. The Lakers will go over .500 in these games, especially if the team is truly a playoff team. There are six games in this group against the Portland Trailblazers, Utah Jazz, Charlotte Hornets, Sacramento Kings and Brooklyn Nets. Let’s say LA goes 4-2.

Then there are the tough games that make out the final eight games of the Lakers’ season. Los Angeles faces the Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks (twice), Denver Nuggets, Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors, Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors.

If the Lakers are truly a playoff team they should go .500 in these games, which if they do, puts them again at 16-9 to end the year and a final 44-38 record.
