Los Angeles Lakers: Three bold predictions for the second half

The Los Angeles Lakers are entering the second half outside of the playoff picture and have a lot of basketball left to play in the second half.
The Los Angeles Lakers do not have the record that many fans were likely hoping for at the NBA All-Star Break. After losing LeBron James for a significant time due to a Christmas Day groin injury, the Lakers have fallen to a 28-29 record at the break.
No LeBron-led team has been under .500 at the All-Star Break since his rookie season, which has many people concerned that the signs of regression that the fanbase just saw in Kobe Bryant are happening.
The young core is not stepping up but is still has more raw talent than the Cleveland Cavaliers team from a year ago. Yes, the Western Conference is absolutely stacked but this team is playing pretty bad as a unit.
LeBron is still producing a LeBronesque season and Laker fans cannot blame him if the team does not make the postseason. Plus, at the end of the day, the goal was never really this year. This year was always supposed to be the foundation to get a superstar for the rest of the three years remaining on LeBron’s contract.
However, the outlook is not as bleak on the Los Angeles Lakers as some fans like to think it is. Here are our bold predictions for the second half of the Los Angeles Lakers season.
