The Los Angeles Dodgers ran so many different lineup variations in 2018 but should stick to a concrete top of the order in 2019.

Dave Roberts and the Los Angeles Dodgers relied very heavily on platoons in 2018, which naturally led to shifting starting lineups. Not only did the platoons play a role but Roberts had the tendency to switch lineups, even if they held the exact same players, on a daily basis.

This year looks to be different for the Los Angeles Dodgers, who appear to be intent on using fewer platoons and establishing more everyday players. However, there still is some uncertainty about if Roberts will establish an everyday lineup.

Dodger fans should not be too worried this year as the team has more players that fit in established roles, unlike last year. That is naturally going to lead to an everyday lineup based on these roles.

The backend of the lineup can be different on a daily basis. There are certain bats from the fifth to eighth spots that will play based on the matchup. That is where Dave Roberts can get his creative juices flowing and change it on a near-everyday basis.

The top of the order should be concrete. Here is how the Dodgers should construct the top of the order on a daily basis.
