Everyone is already looking forward two years to when Mike Trout is a free agent and the Los Angeles Dodgers are a slept on front-runner for the superstar.

The Los Angeles Dodgers were one of the final teams in on Bryce Harper before Harper signed a 13-year, $330 million contract with the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Harper era in Philadelphia has officially begun and the superstar is already trying to recruit other stars to Philly. Harper did take a slight pay cut in terms of annual value so the Phillies could bring in other assets, the biggest outside asset, of course, being Mike Trout.

Trout is a documented Philadelphia sports fan and has been connected to the Phillies long before Harper signed with the team. Even Harper acknowledges that Trout coming to Philadelphia is a possibility and has even been contacted by the MLB for potential tampering by recruiting Trout.

There are still two more seasons until Trout hits the free agent market to shatter the record that Harper just set this season. Heck, there is a chance that the Angels convince Trout to never even hit the open market and offer him a lifetime contract extension that he cannot deny.

The Angels are not shy in giving out long-term deals, even if the Albert Pujols is starting to burn them.

However, if Trout does hit the open market then the Phillies are going to be the obvious favorites. They are not the only logical fit for Trout, though, as there is another front-runner in the mix: the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Here is why the Dodgers are the ultimate front-runner.
