The Los Angeles Lakers have been trying to add a second superstar before they even signed LeBron James. This offseason the team will snag a second and third.

The Los Angeles Lakers 2018-2019 season if pretty much over. The Lakers have fallen so far out of the playoff picture that the team is going to start playing LeBron James on a minute restriction to keep him healthy for next season.

Nearly the entire young core is banged up and out of action and it is time for Lakers fans to start looking towards the future. This is just the first year of the four-year contract that LeBron James signed and sometimes fans forget to look in the big picture of things.

It is completely understandable if the big picture of things still isn’t promising. The Lakers were much worse this season than any fan had expected and LeBron James’ comments about his teammates were off-putting.

Heck, even Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka have swung and missed on just about anything they have tried to do, making it even easier to be pessimistic about this team.

However, the Lakers have been planting the seeds to add another superstar this offseason before the team even added LeBron James. Not only are the Lakers going to add a second star alongside James, but are going to create a big three.

Here is the obvious two-step, two-superstar plan that the Lakers have been plotting.
