Spring training has been very interesting for the Los Angeles Dodgers thus far but does not take away from the fact there have been some losers of the spring.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are just about halfway through Spring Training, which means that regular season baseball is right around the corner. While Spring Training games are great to evaluate players and are interesting to watch, it still does not measure up to the regular season.

Spring is valuable for a lot of reasons, though. The exhibition games are great to evaluate how the big league guys are trending and who should win specific position battles. Not only that, it can help evaluate minor league players, who are non-roster invitees, as a peek into the future.

For example, middle infield prospect Gavin Lux, who is a top-100 prospect on MLB Pipeline, is a non-roster invitee this spring. He has struggled at the plate due to the lack of consistent at-bats but the larger trend is his throwing issues from short.

Those who follow Lux closely know that his arm accuracy is his biggest weakness. Now on the big stage, the Dodgers can address this problem and assure Lux that he has the arm to be successful and just slow down in the moment.

Things like that are what make spring so important but it does not stay exclusive to prospects. Dave Roberts and the front office has learned a lot about the 2019 squad based off of spring thus far which, unfortunately, is because some players have struggled.

There are winners of the spring, which we already covered, and there are losers. Here are the three biggest losers of spring training thus far.
