3. Mike Iupati, T.J. Lang or Andy Levitre

This might sound like cheating the system because the title of the article said three players and this is three players alone on one slide, extending our list to five people. However, all three of these guards are similar for the wrong reasons and are the biggest names in the free agent market.

That is why they are all included on the list.

Perhaps the only offensive need that the Los Angeles Rams have this offseason is in the offensive line, in particular, the interior portions of the line. While the line should be just fine this year, it is aging and not adding to it now is only going to hurt the team later.

However, despite Mike Iupati, T.J. Lang and Andy Levitre being the biggest guard names in free agency and having the veteran experience, they are not at all the best fit for the Rams.

First of all, all three men just add to the aging problem on the Rams. While they are younger than, say, Andrew Whitworth, they certainly are not young in NFL years.

Secondly, all three are coming off of terrible years that were cut short and the players weren’t even that great in 2019 to begin with.

All three of these guys are past their prime but are going to gain interest because of their names and their pedigree. It is hard to find an elite guard and the Rams might be hoping they can get that out of any one of these three.

The team cannot and signing any one of these players would be short-sided and would only hurt the already existing problem.

Next. Don't be surprised if the Rams trade the 31st pick. dark

The Los Angeles Rams could use that cap space for something better and can even select an offensive lineman in the third (or even the first) round of the 2019 NFL Draft. No need for these veterans.
