The Los Angeles Dodgers have sorely been missing the center of the team’s foundation in Corey Seager, who is set to return on Opening Day.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have one of the best young overall shortstops in Major League Baseball. Corey Seager burst into the league with a Rookie of the Year and MVP finalist season yet has been lost in the mix when discussing the best shortstops in baseball.

This is mainly due to the fact that Seager missed nearly all of 2018 with Tommy John Surgery while the other great shortstops were producing. However, Seager has MVP potential and will more than likely win one before his career with the Dodgers is said and done.

Dodger fans finally get to see Seager back in the action as his recovery from Tommy John has gone smoothly. Seager made his spring training debut with the big league club on Wednesday against the Chicago Cubs.

In his first at-bat, he nearly went deep with a long fly ball to center field. In his second at-bat, he left the building with a bomb over the center field wall.

It is going to be great to see Seager back in action after nearly a year. And while the Dodgers did replace him with another elite shortstop in Manny Machado, Seager is the better all-around shortstop and has certain impacts on this team that Machado did not have.
