2. Scott Brooks

Like Gregg Popovich, Scott Brooks is currently employed by an NBA team and the Los Angeles Lakers would need him to part ways with the Washington Wizards in order to get him as head coach. That is definitely within the realm of possibility.

The Washington Wizards have been flat out bad this season, part of which is because of the tense dynamic between the stars on the roster. John Wall going out with an injury certainly didn’t help but the fact remains that a 30-44 record is underwhelming.

This might make you wonder why the Lakers would be inclined at going after Brooks if he is having a poor season. That logic certainly makes sense, but Brooks is an exciting coach option because of his work with the Oklahoma City Thunder and the coaching tendencies he showed.

Brooks is very good at developing young players and fitting multiple young players into rotations and roles that best suit their skill set as well as their progression. He did coach the young trio of James Harden, Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant, after all.

Brooks knows how to maintain that balancing act, something that has made Walton as bad of a head coach as he is. Not only that, he has experience with superstars and their expectations and can get the respect that a coach needs from LeBron James.
