Los Angeles Rams: First-round prospects to avoid in the 2019 NFL Draft
By Jason Reed
The Los Angeles Rams have the 31st overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft and there have been some pretty crazy predictions on who the team will select.
For the first time since the Los Angeles Rams selected Jared Goff with the first overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, the team will have a first-round selection.
Granted, the selection is second-to-last in the first-round, making it just two picks higher than a second-round pick. There is also the possibility of the team trading the pick to go down in the draft, something we even suggested the team should consider.
If no trades happen then the Rams will be looking to land an impact player in the first round that can instantly slide into the depth chart and make a difference from day one. Although the team is losing some players this offseason, replacing said players with a standout rookie is the best way to go.
And with it being draft season nearly every sports outlet has churned out a mock draft (except us, ironically) predicting what team will pick what prospect and when.
Our reason for not posting a mock draft? It gets repetitive for the reader. These teams do not have infinite needs and there is a finite amount of players that really fit the team. However, because of the abundance of mock drafts, there are some out there that have the Rams picking some questionable players in the first round.
It is nothing against the writer of said mock draft at all, there are just some potential fits out there for the Rams that would not be in the team’s best interest. Here are those picks.
