1. Offensive line

The Los Angeles Rams’ offensive line is one of the biggest reasons why the Rams have been so explosive offensively and why Jared Goff was able to burst out after a poor rookie season. The front office did a wonderful job of building a unit that could protect the young quarterback.

However, just two years into McVay’s tenure as coach, the Rams offensive line is at a turning point. The team lost Rodger Saffold to the Oakland Raiders and center John Sullivan is a free agent and is not getting any younger.

Andrew Whitworth remains the best player on the offensive line but is in the last year of his contract and is 37 years old. This line is not getting any younger and it certainly got thinner this offseason.

It is time for the Rams to start focusing on that line and that means drafting some interior lineman in this year’s NFL Draft. The team does not need to fully reconstruct the line this year but the process should certainly be started.

If the front office waits too long to improve this offensive line then the results could be horrid for Goff’s efficiency and the Rams overall offensive gusto. The offensive line is the most overlooked position in football and it will become noticeable if the Rams do not start working towards the future.
