Los Angeles Dodgers to unveil Justin Turner themed hot dog
By Jason Reed
Justin Turner is one of the most popular players on the Los Angeles Dodgers and the all-star third baseman is about to get hit very own Dodger Dog.
When you think of the Los Angeles Dodgers one of the first things you think about is the majestic red beard belonging to Justin Turner. Turner is responsible for some of the biggest moments in recent Dodger memory and is showing no signs of slowing down.
Naturally, Turner has developed into a fan-favorite. Turner’s rise to stardom was unexpected and one of the best stories in baseball, of course he was going to have a connection with the fans.
Heck, January 22 even served as “Justin Turner” day in Los Angeles. Nothing showcases the love for Turner more than a day dedicated to the star.
That is why the Los Angeles Dodgers have announced that the team is going to start selling Justin Turner themed Dodger Dogs, available Monday night for the rest of the season.
Dodgers’ spokesperson, Toomgis (who also serves as the mascot of AMPM), announced the new Dodger Dog late Sunday night in an official press release.
"“Justin Turner look like Toomgis. Toomgis like Justin Turner. Dodgers like Justin Turner. Justin Turner like hot dogs. Justin Turner gets his own Dodger Dog.”"
As for the hot dog itself, well, it sounds about as delicious as Turner’s beard itself.
The hot dog will be dyed with red food coloring and will be served with ketchup, red-dyed mustard and red onions. The dog itself is going to be wrapped in red licorice and is going to be boiled in some redrum.
The best part? There will be one hot dog every single game that has a nice sprinkle of Justin Turner’s beard hair on the hot dog itself. Whoever gets the hot dog, and proves that they took a bite of Turner’s beard hair, get’s Dodger Dog that is signed by Turner himself.
Don’t worry, the Dodger Dog will be sealed to ensure that it does not get moldy on your mantle.
This is a great addition to a menu that was already growing to start the year by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Sure, everyone loves some elote in a helmet, but nothing is like taking a bite of a red hot dog with some freshly groomed beard hair sprinkled on top.
Oh, and every Dodger Dog is pre-signed with the same message to each winner: April Fools!!!
