The Los Angeles Dodgers had the best offensive four-game series in franchise history and will continue the hot hitting into Monday’s game against the Giants.

The Los Angeles Dodgers‘ bats were out of this world to start the season as the team scored a combined 42 runs in four games to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks three games to one.

The only game that the Dodgers lost in the series the team really should not have as it took everything going in the Diamondbacks’ favor to grind out a 13-inning win. If Russell Martin makes the play on a Pedro Baez wild pitch and Enrique Hernandez hits a foul ball 10 feet to the right it would have been a 6-0 game after the top of the seventh, not a 3-3 game.

While the bullpen could use some work and Walker Buehler did not look sharp it is hard to really complain about the bats on the team. Cody Bellinger, Joc Pederson and Austin Barnes are all off to massive starts as all three men have an OPS over 1.600.

A.J. Pollock was phenomenal, putting the team on his back in the 13-inning loss and delivering the game-winning hit on Sunday.

Because of the offensive onslaught, our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak selections were fairly successful, although we do not have a streak to show for it because of Chris Taylor‘s 0-for on Sunday.

However, we still got three out of four correct and the fans were able to get the last two games of the series correct. Without further ado, here are our selections for Monday’s contest.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 0): David Freese

The Los Angeles Dodgers do not have a lot of history against Drew Pomeranz even though Pomeranz was a member of the San Diego Padres. In the 42 total at-bats against Pomeranz, though, the Dodgers are hitting just .119.

David Freese is getting the start tonight with the southpaw on the mound and is yet to make any significant noise this season.

Freese is due for a bomb and Pomeranz is going to leave something over the plate that he is going to tuck over the wall into the first few rows of the left-field pavilion.

Fans’ pick (Current streak: 2): Cody Bellinger

The fans are going with the Dodger bat that has arguably been the hardest in Cody Bellinger. Kami Cheney is responsible for today’s selection, which was made via Facebook comment.

Bellinger also does not have any history against Pomeranz but it would not be all that surprising to see the left-handed Bellinger thrive against Pomeranz despite Pomeranz being a southpaw. Bellinger is seeing left-handed pitching well and Pomeranz does not possess nasty stuff.

If Pomeranz gives Bellinger the same pitches to hit that he hopefully gives Freese then there is no doubt that Bellinger makes him pay.

Next. Opening weekend review. dark

Bellinger is a great selection coming up against Pomeranz and it appears as if we will see at least two more home runs by the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night.
