2. Signing DeMarcus Cousins

Chance of happening: 50%

There is a better chance of the Los Angeles Lakers signing DeMarcus Cousins this summer than there is of the team trading for Anthony Davis, although that might upset some of the fan base.

It is not an unpopular opinion and certainly is justified to be upset if this is the second superstar that the Los Angeles Lakers end up with. Although Boogie was once considered one of the best centers in the league, he does have some legitimate concerns around him that don’t help an already questionable Lakers team.

First and foremost he has not looked 100 percent since returning from injury and there is a legitimate reason to believe that as a big man he can never fully recover. Even if he does, there are the potential locker room problems and clashing attitudes between Cousins, LeBron and the young core.

However, the team needs a center and that has led to Cousins being in the rumor mill. Cousins would not only fill the gaps at center in the depth chart but would provide shooting around LeBron James as well.

Cousins probably won’t get a max deal but the Lakers, being desperate to save face and get the second superstar, will likely be willing to beat Cousins’ best offer on the market this summer. For that reason, signing Cousins is the second-most likely thing to happen this offseason.
