2. Rashan Gary, Michigan

If Dexter Lawrence is not on the board by the time the 31st overall pick rolls around then the Los Angeles Rams might be inclined to go with Rashan Gary out of Michigan. Admittedly, though, Gary has the stock of a mid to early second-round pick and would be picked slightly early by the Rams.

While that might seem like a bad thing it really is not for the Rams if they are in on Gary as a prospect. While the big boards indicate that he should be selected in the 40s, the Rams could latch onto something they see out of Gary and select him 10 picks early.

Plus, considering the rest of the draft class, there might not be another logical pick worth taking a first-round pick on. Gary is not that large of a jump and it would be better to draft someone that can fill a need rather than draft someone higher on a big board that does not really help much.

Gary has the skills to be a productive nose tackle at the NFL level but is much rawer than someone like Lawrence. He certainly is the better athlete than Lawrence and is much better at getting to the passer.

The Rams would need to hone in on Gary’s athleticism but if the team wants to go with the pass-rushing route in the draft then he might be the best option. He is a little raw, sure, but there is no better line to be thrust into and learn in than the Los Angeles Rams’.
