The Los Angeles Rams have the 31st overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft and it would not be all that surprising to see the Rams move up via trade.

The Los Angeles Rams have a pick in the first round of the NFL Draft for the first time since 2016, when the team traded up to the first overall pick to select Cal quarterback, Jared Goff.

It was that trade that led to the Rams not having a pick in 2017 and the Brandin Cooks trade that led to no pick in 2018. If anything, the Rams have proven that they are not afraid to trade with their first-round draft picks.

We have made the case for the Rams trading down in the draft and have even made the case for making another Cooks-like deal. The one angle we have not really attacked is if the team would trade up in the 2019 NFL Draft.

The Rams obviously did it in 2016 and would be following in the New Orleans Saints’ footsteps from a year ago. The Saints traded last year’s fifth-round pick as well as the team’s first-round pick this year to move up 13 spots to draft Marcus Davenport.

The Rams are in the same position as the Saints were a year ago and could use a big impact player, preferably on defense. If there is someone that they love the team can establish a pick that, if the prospect falls to, they can move up to that spot.

It would mean trading away next year first-round pick but it would be worth it if the Rams draft smart. With that in mind, here are two spots the Rams could target.
