The Los Angeles Dodgers take on the Colorado Rockies in game two of a three-game road trip looking to secure a series win by banging up Jon Gray.

The Los Angeles Dodgers‘ first road game of the season was very much like the team’s first game of the season on Opening Day. The bats were on fire and the Dodgers were able to put 10 runs on the board.

Heck, just like on Opening Day, Brock Stewart and Yimi Garcia allowed most of the runs out of the bullpen. They allowed four of the five on Opening Day and five of the six in Friday’s contest.

This was a promising game for the Dodgers as it was the team’s first true offensive showcase against a southpaw, something they had just been doing to right-handed pitching this season.

Everyone in the starting lineup except Enrique Hernandez and Chris Taylor got a base hit, which was great for our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak series.

We went with A.J. Pollock, who was coming off an 0-4 outing the game before.  Pollock had a relatively slow day compared to the rest of the order, going 2-5 with two runs scored. Still enough to extend our streak.

The fans went with arguably the hottest player in baseball, Cody Bellinger. And what do you know, Bellinger delivered with a three-run home run in the fifth inning to give himself the outright home run and RBI lead on the season.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 1): Cody Bellinger

I have kind of been avoiding picking Cody Bellinger because I know that is most likely who the fans are going to pick and I do not want to be predictable every night by picking the hottest bat on the team.

However, Bellinger’s career line against Jon Gray was just too good to ignore and I could not willingly look away from their history together and not use that as my selection.

Bellinger has eight at-bats against Gray in his career with six base hits, two of which are doubles, and two RBIs.

He has struck out just once and walked just once, giving him nine career plate appearances with six hits. Those odds are extremely high and the way he is swinging it right now, they will probably get even better on Saturday.

The fans’ pick (Current streak: 2): Justin Turner

Our very own Jamaal Artis gave us today’s fan selection, which is none other than Justin Turner.

Turner has started the year off slow but had a nice multi-hit game against the Rockies on Friday.

Next. Best teams in Dodgers' history. dark

Turner is the engine that drives the Los Angeles Dodgers and if he can have a big day then a victory will ensue.
