The Los Angeles Dodgers are looking for a series sweep over the Colorado Rockies on Sunday while also looking to extend a home run streak.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are enjoying an extremely hot start to the 2019 season that is completely unlike the start they endured last season.

The Dodgers are 7-2 through nine games against division rivals and have won each game in a different way. Some have been blowouts, others have been from behind.

The one constant is that the Dodgers have hit a home run in every single game. A home run on Sunday, which is almost a guarantee at Coors Field, will extend that streak to 10 games.

Heck, the Dodgers might have even been looking a 10-game winning streak right in the eye to start the season if it was not for Joe Kelly. Kelly blew a combined three leads in his first two appearances of the year, accounting for the team’s only two losses.

The Dodgers have been that good to start the year and the offense is firing on all cylinders. This streak is not going to be a year-long thing and slumps will happen, but this team is showing that even when they slump they might not be as bad as last year.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are not only winning games with the hot bats, but they are also extending our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak series. Every game we pick someone to get a hit, and while our streaks are not long, they are right more times than not.

Here are our selections for Sunday’s contest.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 2): Justin Turner

Justin Turner had a big day for the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday, which was a nice turnaround from a slow start of the year. Turner went 3-4 in the contest and reached base four times due to a hit-by-pitch in the fourth inning.

Typically I do not like going with someone that is coming off of a great game. The stats of baseball show that if Turner usually succeeds three out of ten times, and he got three hits the game prior, that he might be due to level out.

However, he is now leveling out to his average after a slow start, which should mean that he should get at least one base knock in today’s game. It also helps that Turner has 10 hits in 25 at-bats against opposing pitcher Chad Bettis, which includes four doubles.

The fans’ pick (Current streak: 3): Cody Bellinger

We asked our fans for their pick on our Facebook page and the only response we saw in the comment section was Cody Bellinger.

The fans have picked Bellinger more times than any other player this season and for the right reasons. Bellinger is the hottest hitter in baseball right now and has been the engine driving the Dodgers’ succeeding offense.

Betting on Bellinger against a right-handed pitcher is a smart bet. He nearly had a home run on Saturday and he very well could hit his seventh of the year in the mile high air.

Next. How to make more time for Alex Verdugo. dark

Will this be the game that Bellinger lets the fans down or will he continue to prove them correct?
