The Los Angeles Dodgers completed the series sweep of the Colorado Rockies and continue a grueling road trip with a Monday game in St. Louis.

The Los Angeles Dodgers played three division foes to start the 2019 season and proved why they are the consensus favorites to win the National League West.

The Dodgers went 8-2 in those 10 games and outscored their opponents 84-48. Yes, you read that correctly. The Los Angeles Dodgers have scored 84 runs in 10 games, averaging 8.4 runs per game.

Heck, the Dodgers could easily be 9-1 and you could make the case for the team being 10-0. Joe Kelly blew a three-run and one-run lead in his first appearance of the year for the Dodgers first lost and blew a 2-0 lead in his second appearance for the team’s other loss.

But hey, things happen and being 8-2 is a great thing.

The Dodgers will get their first true test of the season with a road series against the St. Louis Cardinals, who are legitimate pennant contenders with a great starting rotation and a familiar face for the Dodgers: Paul Goldschmidt.

If the Dodgers can take two out of three or even sweep the Cardinals and follow that with a series win against the Milwaukee Brewers on the road then they will cement themselves as the best team in the NL.

However, until then, we have to see what happens and enjoy the hot start for what it is.

The hot start has been great for our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak series. While we do not have 10-game hitting streaks, we have been correct more times than not in our selections and carry a streak into this series.

Here is who we have, as well as you, the fans, in the Dodgers’ opening game against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 3): A.J. Pollock

The Los Angeles Dodgers are coming up against Miles Mikolas, who was one of the best stories in the MLB last season. Mikolas finished sixth in Cy Young voting with a 2.83 ERA four years after his last start with the Texas Rangers.

As a result of the long layoff and Mikolas not making a start against the Dodgers last year, the team has virtually no experience against the right-handed pitcher, so it is hard to go off of that. The team has a combined seven at-bats against Mikolas across three players.

One of those players is not A.J. Pollock, who did not join the hit parade on Sunday with an 0-5 outing.

Pollock is consistent and he is going to get on base at least once across a big enough sample size and after going 0-5 on Sunday he should be due for at least one base hit on Tuesday.

Assuming Pollock starts, there is just no way that he goes nine straight at-bats without a base hit. If he does, well, our streak ends.

The fans’ pick (Current streak: 4): Cody Bellinger

You know, the fans have been going with Cody Bellinger on a near-nightly basis but I cannot really blame you guys, he has the hottest bat in baseball.

The fans have picked Bellinger in three of the last four games and it has obviously worked out as the fans have a longer streak than I do.

With another right-handed pitcher on the mound, it would not be surprising if Bellinger not only has another multi-hit game but hits at least one extra-base hit.

Next. How to make more time for Verdugo. dark

He s seeing the ball really well right now and has the speed to beat out routine groundballs; he has already done so twice this year! Bellinger is as safe of a pick as you can get.
