The Los Angeles Lakers have a significant amount of free agents this summer as a result of the team wanting to maintain cap flexibility in the offseason.

The Los Angeles Lakers have seven unrestricted free agents hitting the market this summer, due to the front office’s strategy from a summer ago. With the Lakers striking out on Paul George last summer, the front office opted to sign several players to one-year deals to keep the cap space flexible.

Now the Dodgers are set up to sign a second superstar alongside LeBron James, which has been the proposed goal since Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka took over operations.

The only problem is that now the roster is thin and there are several teams that have enough cap space for the deep free agent class. There is a realistic scenario in which the Dodgers come out empty this summer.

One thing we know for certain is that the Lakers are not going to bring back all of the impending free agents. However, we do think two are going to re-sign, which we covered in a previous article.

Here are the other five and what teams they should sign with this offseason.

Mike Muscala: Golden State Warriors

We will start this article with arguably the most boring free agent that the Lakers have this offseason. Muscala came to the team in the hated trade deadline trade that saw Ivica Zubac get traded to the Los Angeles Clippers.

It is safe to say that no Laker fans are going to miss Muscala, who does have something to offer to the right team. He is a three-point specialist (although he has not been great with the Lakers) and would be the perfect cheap bench shooter for the Golden State Warriors to go after.

Having Muscala as the eighth guy in the rotation with the Warriors is a great scenario for him. Not only can he be on a contender but he can play on a team that fits his strengths.
