Rajon Rondo: Phoenix Suns

If you look at the box score then you would think that the Los Angeles Lakers would want to re-sign Rajon Rondo. However, Rondo’s stats are better because he is getting many more minutes than expected with Lonzo Ball‘s sprained ankle.

Plus, while the box score is positive, you could make the case that Rondo is throwing up empty stats that are not doing much to actually help his team win games. Despite being the assist leader among all free agents, Rondo has posted the second-worst win shares of his career.

However, there are still teams out there that need a point guard that is going to be intrigued by Rondo’s box score. One of those teams is the Phoenix Suns, who are not quite ready to sign a superstar to contend but could use a veteran presence like Rondo.

Rondo would have to understandably shoot the ball less as he cannot stunt Devin Booker‘s growth. However, having someone that can actually take the ball up court and create looks for Booker and Ayton could be extremely beneficial to this team.

The Suns have money to spend this offseason with no real star connected to the team. They will probably give Rondo the most money out of any team and it is the best destination for both sides.
