The Los Angeles Dodgers walked it off on Monday night and are now looking for a third consecutive win with Kenta Maeda on the bump.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are back trending in the right direction after winning two consecutive games, one against the Milwaukee Brewers and one against the Cincinnati Reds.

The Dodgers were able to easily handle the Brewers on the Sunday afternoon game as the ball was flying all around the yard and Ross Stripling pitched eight dominant innings.

Clayton Kershaw‘s return on Monday was almost thwarted by Yasiel Puig‘s two-run home run in the first but Kershaw responded nicely and threw seven innings of efficient two-run ball.

The Reds pieced together some hits on some great Kenley Jansen pitches in the ninth (hard to get mad at that) and Joc Pederson ended the night with a pimp-job home run that nearly didn’t even get out.

It was a great feel-good win for the Dodgers to hopefully build some more momentum. While the season is long, the standings can come down to a game or two and getting on hot stretches is the best way to counteract six-game losing streaks.

This could be the start of yet another hot stretch.

On the bump for the Dodgers in Wednesday’s contest is Kenta Maeda, who is looking to rebound from his last start, in which he allowed five earned runs across 5.1 innings.

Tyler Mahle takes the mound for the Reds with a 0.82 ERA in 11 innings this year.

The bullpen is well rested after only having to throw three combined innings over the last two days and Maeda is going to stay in the game as long as he is dominating. This could turn into another low-scoring pitcher duel.

Either way, we are going to need some hits for our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak series. Here are our selections for Tuesday.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 0): Corey Seageer

I actually went with Corey Seager for Monday’s game but the star shortstop went 0-4 on the night. The reasoning for picking him was that he was coming off of an 0-5 outing, so he seemed destined to get a hit.

That was not the case but it seems virtually impossible that he goes three straight games, and at least 12 at-bats, without a base hit. Seager has started the year off slow but that is even too low for him.

The fans’ pick (Current streak: 3): N/A

Nobody responded to our posts asking for a fan selection, so we are going to go without a fan selection for tonight’s game. Don’t worry, though, the fans will not lose the streak, it will simply stay at three.
