The Los Angeles Lakers have been chasing two superstars for two years now and some of the biggest names this summer will undoubtedly be off the table.

The goal for the Los Angeles Lakers over the last few seasons has always been to add two superstars to the roster to create a title-contending team that could help restore the prestige that the franchise is so accustomed to.

The front office was able to land the first star in this two star plan and it was the biggest superstar in the league, LeBron James. However, what has happened since has been nothing but a disappointment for the fans, front office and players.

Not only were the Lakers unable to sign a second superstar or trade for one this past year but the team also missed the playoffs despite having James and a young core that should have been talented enough.

Granted, the team dealt with various injuries and setbacks all year long that prevented them from reaching full potential, but it was a disappointment nonetheless.

That does not mean that the two superstar agenda is off the table, even with Magic Johnson out of the picture. The Lakers front office is going to be looking to add a second star by all means necessary.

But we would be lying if we said that things are looking positive. Things are looking quite bleak, actually, and the Lakers don’t really appear to be favorites to win this summer.

Of course, we don’t exactly know what is going to play out this summer and all it takes is one new report to spark new hope. However, there are three superstars that will undoubtedly not sign with the Los Angeles Lakers this summer, regardless of any report you hear.

Here are those stars.
