The Los Angeles Dodgers have cemented themselves as the streakiest team in baseball to start the year and are going for their seventh win in a row.

To say that the Los Angeles Dodgers have been streaky to start the season is an understatement. The Dodgers have been the streakiest team in Major League Baseball and are looking to extend their current win streak to seven games on Saturday.

The Dodgers started the season 8-2 as the result of a five-game winning streak after starting 3-2. From there, the Dodgers lost six games in a row before embarking on their current streak of six wins in a row.

When this winning streak ends, and it will end obviously, it does not mean that the Dodgers are going to suddenly go on another long losing streak. The St. Louis Cardinals caught the team at the right time for a four-game series that the Dodgers honestly should have probably split.

Even if LA lost the two games to the Milwaukee Brewers in LA, a split in St. Louis would have produced a 16-6 record through 22 games instead of the team’s 14-8 record. A 16-6 record would be the best in the league.

Things are still looking very promising for the Dodgers and this team has shown that they can win in a multitude of ways. On Friday, it was an 0-2 count, two out, three-run home run off of Josh Hader by Enrique Hernandez that won the game.

That is the first 0-2 home run Hader has allowed in his career and it is one of those home runs we will be talking about all year as it might be the only two strike, two out home run Hader allows.

Neither we or the fans picked Hernandez in our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak selections, however, we still nailed our picks nonetheless. Here are Saturday’s picks.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 4): Max Muncy

It has been so long since the Los Angeles Dodgers have had to face a left-handed starter and that streak continues on Saturday as the Boys in Blue will square off against Chase Anderson.

Due to the heavy right-handed matchups, Max Muncy has received a lot of playing time and will probably start tonight in some capacity, most likely first base after starting at second in Friday’s game.

Muncy hit a big two-run home run in Thursday’s game that ended up being the deciding shot to give the Dodgers a 3-1 lead. However, on Friday, Muncy went 0-5.

That might mean that Dave Roberts will give Muncy a day off today but he really shouldn’t as Sunday’s afternoon game is a good chance to start other guys, such as David Freese, to give Muncy two days off in a row.

Muncy might not get another big hit but we know that he is at least due for a base hit on Saturday.

The fans’ pick (Current streak: 5): N/A

There was no fan response for our Beat the Streak selections at the time of writing this article so the fans are riding no pick into this game. Don’t worry, though, the streak does not reset, it simply stays at five games.
