The Los Angeles Dodgers lost their first game at the friendly confines of Wrigley Field and look to take game two to even up the series against Cole Hamels.

The Los Angeles Dodgers were unable to kickstart their third lengthy winning streak of the season on Tuesday against the Chicago Cubs and ultimately fell, 7-2. With the way the Dodgers have been playing, that second win in a row very well could have blossomed into a longer winning streak.

However, the Cubs got the best of the Dodgers in a game that they pulled away early from but were never really fully able to put the Dodgers to bed.

The Cubs scored six runs in the first two innings but were rather tame after that. The Cubs were only able to muster one hit after the first two innings, which was a solo home run by Javier Baez off of Caleb Ferguson.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers had multiple chances to put runs on the board and make the game interesting but were unable to come through each time. It was one of those games where things just weren’t going the Dodgers’ way and the 7-2 final score was not indicative of how the teams played.

The Dodgers are looking to avenge that loss on Wednesday as they send Walker Buehler to the bump to square off against Cole Hamels.

The Dodgers’ hitters are hitting a collective .269 against Hamels in his career and here is who we think will kickstart the offense as part of our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak series.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 0): Justin Turneer

Max Muncy really hurt my streak when we last selected him. We have not made selections the last two days and when we picked Muncy on Saturday he did not start and only had one at-bat, not registering a hit.

That is the worst way to lose your streak and it is why building a lengthy streak is such a hard thing to do.

So to kick off a new streak I am going to be going with someone that has a pretty good history against Cole Hamels, Justin Turner.

Turner has 15 at-bats against Hamels, which is the third-most on the Dodgers, with the most hits, six. Of those six hits, Turner also has a double and a home run with a 1.137 OPS and three strikeouts.

The lefty-righty matchup is obviously already in Turner’s favor and the fact that he already hits Hamels good is a great added bonus.

Next. What we know about the Dodgers' identity. dark

Maybe today is the day that Turner gets ahold of one and the windy Chicago air pushes the ball out for his first home run of the season. Either way, Turner will get a base hit.
