The Los Angeles Dodgers have the chance to guarantee a series win against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday and have the best person starting to do so.

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-2 on Friday and some noticeable records were set. Cody Bellinger not only set the record for total bases before May 1 with his first inning home run but gave the Dodgers the MLB record for consecutive home games with a home run.

Austin Barnes had a big day, slugging a home run and an RBI double and Enrique Hernandez hit out of his slump with an RBI single.

Hyun-Jin Ryu overcame an unlucky but rocky start to the game to deliver seven two-run innings, striking out 10 Pirates in the process.

Overall, it was a great game from the Dodgers and a game that we are all too used to seeing. The team never gave up the lead after Bellinger’s home run and the Pirates never really felt too threatening in the game.

Now, the Dodgers have the chance to guarantee a series win with a victory on Saturday. Taking the bump for the Dodgers is none other than Clayton Kershaw, who has allowed just two runs in each of his first two starts.

If Kershaw can continue that trend and once again allow two or fewer runs, chances are the Dodgers offense is going to do enough to get the job done.

With that in mind, here is who we think is going to deliver the big hit for the Boys in Blue on Saturday as part of our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak series.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 1): Corey Seager

Corey Seager‘s return from Tommy John Surgery this season has not been as great as everyone was expecting prior to the year. Seager has started the year off slow and has not been his former MVP finalist self.

This is not a terrible thing for the Dodgers considering that they still have the best record in the National League with both Seager and Justin Turner not playing to full potential. If they both can reach their full potential and Cody Bellinger stays hot, this could be a terrifying order to face, if it isn’t already.

Seager eventually will come around as he has had the luxury of not having the spotlight entirely on him with Bellinger thriving. If Bellinger was not having an insane start, and the Dodgers’ offense was struggling, the spotlight would be on Seager.

Regardless, after a hitless outing on Friday, Seager is more than likely to deliver a base hit on Saturday

Seager has never faced opposing starter Joe Musgrove in the regular season and somehow managed to not face him at all in the 2017 World Series.
