The Los Angeles Dodgers suffered a stinging loss to the San Francisco Giants on Monday and look to avenge themselves with Walker Buehler on the mound.

Everything looked to be going as planned for the Los Angeles Dodgers in the team’s Monday night contest against the San Francisco Giants.

Cody Bellinger reached base a total of three times in the contest and delivered the team’s first run of the game on an RBI single. The pitching staff was great and the Dodgers headed into the bottom of the seventh inning with a 2-0 lead.

Dave Roberts called on Ross Stripling, who was absolute nails in the rotation before being moved to the bullpen. And while you might hear a different consensus on Twitter, it was the right move for Roberts to make.

Stripling then allowed two consecutive one-out hits and a walk before Dylan Floro came in to try and stop the bleeding. Floro struck out Buster Posey with a huge pitch by Evan Longoria was able to muscle an inside two-seam fastball down the left-field line for a bases-clearing double.

The Dodgers were unable to capitalize on baserunners in the eighth and ninth inning and the team ultimately fell 3-2. It was a stinging loss, but one that is bound to happen several times throughout an entire season.

The one positive is that we were correct in our prediction and Joc Pederson got a base hit. As part of our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak series, here is who we think will get a base hit on Tuesday night.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 2): Justin Turner

The Los Angeles Dodgers are very poor against Drew Pomeranz, who already had a great outing against the Dodgers earlier in the year at Dodger Stadium. In that contest, the Dodgers scored just two runs on home runs from Chris Taylor and Alex Verdugo.

We will not be picking either Taylor nor Verdugo as Taylor is producing at one of the worst clips in the entire league thus far this season and there is a lefty-lefty matchup between Pomeranz and Verdugo.

Instead, we are going to go with the guy that is usually the most consistent to get a base hit, at least against left-handed pitching, in Justin Turner.

Turner has not been all that great this year but you still cannot rule him out of at least getting one base hit in the contest. It is time for Turner to turn it around though and perhaps the last day of April will surge him into a red-hot May.

All we really need out of Turner is one base hit to extend our hitting streak. If he wants to go out and have a great game to get him hot, then be our guest.
