1. Kemba Walker

We have already had two articles in the last few weeks about why the Los Angeles Lakers should not sign Kemba Walker this summer. The first was detailed reasoning why this signing would be bad for the Lakers and the other was a list of other “plan b” options that would be better options as a second star than Walker.

It is hard to ridicule what Walker has done this season and how good he is as a player. Walker was named an all-star for the third time in his career and will likely make the All-NBA Third-Team for the first time in his career, at least he should make it.

Walker averaged 25.6 points, 5.9 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game in his contract season. Those are certainly impressive numbers and the idea of him being a shot creator to take some of the pressure off of LeBron James is intriguing.

However, although there are rumblings that he might be drawing interest from the Lakers, he really does not fit at all on this team. The Lakers already have a point guard in Lonzo Ball and a backcourt of Walker and Ball likely would not work very well.

If the Lakers have plans to flip Ball for someone else this summer than I guess you could make the case for this signing. But quite frankly, Walker likely won’t be that successful if he is tasked with sharing the court with LeBron James.
