2. Derrick Rose

If the Los Angeles Lakers are on a budget with the point guard position then perhaps the best option to pick up is Derrick Rose. Quite frankly, I would not be all the surprised if the Lakers signed Rose even with Ball still on the team. That is totally a move that a team with LeBron would make (and have made before).

Rose finally came back into form during this year and looked like the old Rose that we know and love. While he was not quite MVP Rose, he had a resurgence that is going to once again make him a valuable player in the NBA.

Rose averaged 18 points, 4.3 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game. He put up the second-best shooting percentage of his career, making 48.2 percent of his shots while making a career-high 37 percent from beyond the arc.

The stats might say that Rose should get a decent contract, although nothing absurd. However, because of his injury past, he likely will not get anything significant and definitely will not get anything more than two years.

That is why this is such a great potential signing for the Lakers. The team could be getting someone that is coming off his best shooting season that has a massive ceiling of potentially being the third star on the team.

Rose is still just 30 years old and is in his athletic prime. Although it would definitely raise some eyebrows, this would be a solid signing with some upside for the Lakers.
