Although it has felt torturesome as of late, the LA Sports scene has wielded some of the greatest moments and superstars in sports history.

The uniform number in sports is almost revered as much as the individuals who wear them. When a basketball player picks out number 23 we all know who they are trying to emulate. If you play hockey pick out number 66 you will get a bullseye placed on you.

Fans love a uniform number so much we have deemed it the ultimate honor for a player to have their number retired by their team.

Reverence for uniform numbers is no different here in Southern California. Whether it’s the rafters of Staples Center or the facade of Dodger Stadium, the greatest are immortalized.

These top five numbers go from college to the pros and stretch from Los Angeles to Anaheim, these are the top five uniform numbers in Southern California’s history.
