4. Number 23

What other numbers can be associated with the only Kings Captain to raise the Stanley Cup, a longtime Dodgers first basemen, and the greatest moment in LA sports history?

Eric Karros wore number 23 while patrolling first base for the Dodgers for 11 years. Along the way, he won the 1992 National League Rookie of the Year and set a record for home runs for Dodgers who played in Los Angeles.

Dustin Brown has worn the number 23 his entire Los Angeles Kings career, he is the team leader in games played and was the captain for both Kings Stanley Cup win in 2012 and 2014. Someday Brown’s number 23 could find itself among the other Kings retired numbers.

When Kirk Gibson hit his game-winning home run in the 1988 World Series it was his 23 running around the bases on two bad legs. His presence and leadership during the 1988 season led to an MVP season.
