2. Sign Klay Thompson and Nikola Vucevic

Klay Thompson and Nikola Vucevic is another two-star combo that the Los Angeles Clippers could easily sign right now and stay under the salary cap. Neither might be a top-three player like Kawhi Leonard but both together would easily be as good, if not better, than only getting Leonard.

It is still unclear whether or not Thompson is even going to hit the open market this year with his future the most perplexing to predict. With most of these guys, we know that they are likely going to go elsewhere. With Thompson, it is hard to gauge whether or not he will stay in Golden State, although that seems to be the favored outcome.

If not, it makes sense for him to come down the PCH and sign with the Los Angeles Clippers. Thompson also has Southern California roots and would be the perfect face of a team like the Clippers.

Meanwhile, the Clippers could also address their need at the center position by signing Nikola Vucevic. Yes, Vucevic looked poor in the postseason but he was one of the best centers of the regular season, averaging 20.8 points and 12 rebounds per game.

Signing Thompson and Vucecic would add a dynamic shooting duo that would be hard to guard. Thompson is obviously one of the best in the league and Vucevic ranked fourth in three-point shots made among centers last season.

Thompson’s ability to guard the other team’s best guy with relative success makes this a great addition on both sides of the court as well. All in all, this would be a nice pair to land for LA.
