Number 4

  • Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 1985 NBA Finals Game 6 vs. Boston Celtics
  • PTS: 29 REB: 7 AST: 4

This was by no means the best game Jabbar played in this series, at 38 years old he had been maligned after only scoring 12 points in a blowout game one loss. By game six, Jabbar had reminded everyone of his greatness by averaging 28 points over the next four games.

With a 3-2 lead and needing just one more win on the Celtics home court Jabbar again took upon himself to shoulder the scoring load. Jabbar helped the Lakers do something they had never done before: beat the Boston Celtics for an NBA championship.

Till this day, it is the only time the Celtics have lost an NBA title on their home floor and for Jabbar’s effort he was named Finals MVP for the second time in his career. Jabbar’s MVP award was 14 years after his first one, a gap no player has ever been able to equal.
