The Los Angeles Lakers are intent on adding a star this summer and that might lead to the front office making a bone-headed acquisition.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been looking for two superstars before the team even landed the first superstar. Now, after yet another season without making the playoffs despite signing LeBron James, the Lakers are looking to finish the equation to restore prestige to the franchise.

Quite frankly, this is one of the most important offseasons in franchise history and certainly is the most important for this front office group. The Lakers have been an absolute circus over the last year, with many fans displeased on the dysfunction that is going on behind closed doors.

Landing a superstar is huge for the front office as it would allow them to save face and at least tell the fans “see, we told you that we would get you a superstar!” The only problem is that NBA fans are much smarter now and would still be outraged if the Lakers made a move just to save face.

The scary reality for Laker fans is that the team might end up with one of these emergency options, arguably leaving the Lakers in a worst place than they are now. A desperate front office is going to make head-scratching moves and the Lakers risk doing that this offseason.

Here are three of those emergency options that not only could happen this summer but will also cause outrage among the fanbase.
