Another day, another potential sweep in the cards as the Los Angeles Dodgers are in prime position to sweep the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been rolling as of late and have put together an incredible 2019 season thus far that is very reminiscent of the miraculous 2017 season that should have led to a World Series title.

At 43-19, the Dodgers have the best record in Major League Baseball and are on pace to win 112 games, which would go down as one of the greatest seasons of all-time.

There is still a long way to go until that becomes a reality and we got ahead of ourselves a little bit too much in 2017. The Dodgers legitimately could have given the all-time wins record a run for its money but went absolutely ice cold in late August and early September, still winning 104 games.

It is about taking it a game at a time and on Wednesday the Dodgers have an afternoon game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, who are in danger of being swept by the Dodgers. This is nothing new for the Dodgers, though, as the team has already completed seven sweeps this season.

A win on Wednesday would also extend the team’s season-high winning streak to eight games.

The team is not the only thing with a streak on the line, though, as we have built up quite the hitting streak in our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak series. It helps that the offense has been red-hot but we have still picked a successful hitter in 12 straight games.

We are going for lucky number 13 on Wednesday and here is our selection for who we think can muster at least one base hit.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 12): Max Muncy

Max Muncy did not have a great game on Tuesday despite the offense scoring nine runs and recording 12 base hits. In five plate appearances, Muncy went 0-5 with a walk and four strikeouts, certainly not the night he was looking for.

This was strange for Muncy, who has been hot over the last month of the year and has consistently been a good presence atop the batting order. With another right-handed pitcher on Wednesday, Muncy will likely get a chance to avenge himself in the series finally.

Rooke Jon Duplantier has just one career start and has appeared in six games this season. Muncy may have let an inexperienced right-hander get the best of him on Tuesday but the same will not be said on Wednesday.

Muncy will get a base hit in the first inning of the ballgame to get off that bad mojo from the game prior and extend our hitting streak to 13 games.
