The Los Angeles Dodgers are in San Francisco for the second time this season and Clayton Kershaw looks to continue his dominance in the Bay Area.

The Los Angeles Dodgers had an off-day in Northern California on Thursday and are now primed and ready for a three-game road series against the San Francisco Giants. The last series that the Dodgers lost actually came at the end of April in San Francisco, so the Boys in Blue are looking for vengeance.

It looks the Dodgers are going to be able to avenge the last series in San Francisco as well. Not only has the team been dominant as of late but the Boys in Blue will likely get a head start with Clayton Kershaw starting on Friday.

Kershaw has continually been great in San Francisco in his career and has not lost a single game this season, so chances are those trend will continue tonight. In his career, Kershaw has a 1.54 ERA in 22 career starts.

Going against Kershaw and the Dodgers is Drew Pomeranz, a southpaw pitcher with an ERA over eight. That is not a good recipe for the Giants, who are coming up against one of the best offenses in the league.

The one saving grace, and what will ultimately decide the game, is how the Dodgers will hit a southpaw. Granted, they have been much better this year against southpaws but they are still a better team against right-handed pitching.

We need the offense to succeed on Friday to extend our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak hitting streak. This is the longest streak I have had in the two-year existence of this series and this is who I am going with on Friday.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 13): Enrique Hernandeez

Enrique Hernandez has been really unlucky this season with a lot of hard-hit balls that are turning into outs. However, Hernandez has shown positive signs of turning it around with a .250 average the last seven days with a home run on Thursday.

Hernandez has three hits in nine at-bats against Pomeranz in his career, so chances are that he can get at least one base hit in three plate appearances against Pomeranz on Friday. Hernandez has power to all sides of the field and could even send a ball over the right-field wall into the bay.

Beggers cannot be choosers and all I need is a base hit in order to extend the streak to 14 games. Hopefully, number 13 does not prove to be unlucky and Hernandez doesn’t continue his unlucky trends.
