All of the latest Los Angeles Lakers rumors are about trading for Anthony Davis and there appears to be framework for a deal including the Chicago Bulls.

It is an exciting time to be a Los Angeles Lakers fan. For the past few years actually, Laker fans have experienced this same intrigue and speculation that makes it exciting.

And while it seems silly, this time of year might be the best to be a Laker fan. While Laker fans obviously want to watch the team play basketball, there are no frustrations that come with that basketball and instead, there is the promise that the team is going to create something special.

The something special that appears to be in the works is landing Anthony Davis to create a title contender alongside LeBron James. The Lakers appear to be the front runners, although there are so many different reports by the hour that it seems like nobody knows 100 percent what is going on.

One of the reports that emerged on Thursday goes hand-in-hand with what we have been hearing about a potential trade — that it is going to have to include a third team. That team is the Chicago Bulls, which has caused speculation on what a potential trade package could look like.

Out of all of the potential packages, Brandon Robinson proposed one that seemingly makes the most sense.

The Pelicans would be getting a two-guard that is on the brink of being an all-star, a young forward with all-star potential, another young guard with a lot of promise of being one of the league’s best sixth men alongside a lottery pick and a future first-round pick.

As for the Bulls, they get to shed cap space by trading Zach LaVine and makes the team better in the process. While LaVine might be better than Lonzo Ball right now, Ball has the higher ceiling as a two-way defender and would undoubtedly make Lauri Markannen and Wendell Carter Jr. better players.

Oh, and they move from the seventh to the fourth overall pick to draft someone like Darius Garland, who would instantly replace the hole that LaVine left behind.

And for the Los Angeles Lakers, it means they get the one thing they want: Anthony Davis. Not only do they get Davis, but they also get to maintain a piece of the young core, with that piece being none other than Brandon Ingram.

It feels perfect, right? Well for Laker fans it should. However, while the framework of this trade definitely makes sense, there is one tweak that should be made.

It should be Ingram, not Kyle Kuzma, that is included in the deal to New Orleans. While the Lakers might want to keep Ingram around, he has much more value to the Pelicans and this deal probably doesn’t happen without him.

It makes more sense logistically for the Pelicans as the team is going to have Zion Williamson likely playing power forward and would add an outside scorer to play the three in Ingram. Kuzma and Williamson would be a clunky fit.

And the Lakers would be just fine keeping the power forward over the small forward. LeBron is a natural small forward so he would line back up as the three with Kuzma at the four and Davis at the five.

Plus, Ingram has a much larger cap hit than Kuzma and is in the last year of his contract before becoming a restricted free agent. The Lakers can get more long-term out of Kuzma and would be getting more cap space in the process to replace the pieces that they lost.
