The Los Angeles Dodgers have scored 18 runs over the last two games and look to take the four-game series with Madison Bumgarner standing in the way.

After the offense fell flat in the first game of the series on Monday, the Los Angeles Dodgers have responded with 18 combined runs over the last two games to put themselves in a position to win the four-game series against the San Francisco Giants.

Not only is this the fourth and final game of the series but this is the fourth time that the Dodgers are coming up against Madison Bumgarner this season. Just like this series, the Dodgers are 2-1 in games against Bumgarner this season.

Bumgarner is certainly going to feel like he has a lot to prove in this game after his last outing against the Dodgers. That is where the now infamous “go get it out of the ocean” phrase was birthed by Max Muncy in a game that Bumgarner and the Giants lost, 1-0.

This also very well could be the last time that Bumgarner pitches against the Dodgers this season. The two teams don’t play each other until September and there is a good chance that Bumgarner is no longer in San Francisco by that time.

But hey, who knows, maybe the team that he gets traded to (if he even gets traded) ends up playing the Dodgers again.

Either way, the Dodgers are focused on tonight and the offense is definitely going to look to not only carry this offensive momentum but tattoo Bumgarner after the mini-feud he has created with Muncy.

As part of our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak series, here is who we think can get at least one base hit on Thursday night.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 0): Enrique Hernandez

Mark my words, if Enrique Hernandez does not get a base hit in this contest then I will not pick him at all for the rest of the season. Hernandez is the one who ended my season-long 13-game hitting streak a few weeks ago and came up empty-handed last night as well.

Hernandez is as cold as it gets and if he cannot get a hit off of the one sure-fire matchup that he has, which is against Bumgarner, then he cannot be trusted the rest of the year.

I have picked Hernandez in every single game against Bumgarner this year and so far he is 3-3. It feels like it is pretty much a lock at this point considering Hernandez is hitting .500 against Bumgarner in 48 at-bats.

I have confidence that Hernandez can capitalize on this matchup and start a new streak after ending one yesterday.
