The Los Angeles Dodgers have won six games in a row, three in a row by walk-off, and are now set to square off against an old friend.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are gaining some momentum again and the rest of the league should take notice. Just when it seemed like the team was human they have turned it around and won six games in a row, all in exciting fashion.

The Dodgers took three in a row against the San Francisco Giants, scoring nine runs in all three games to take that series three games to one. Then the team welcomed the Colorado Rockies, who were the second-hottest team in the National League behind the Dodgers,  for a three-game series.

The Dodgers then squashed any hope that the Rockies had in moving back into contention for the division and walked off in all three games, all home runs hit by rookies. Not only did the Dodgers make history with their rookie walk-off home runs but the team extended its winning streak over Colorado to 11 games.

The Dodgers now take their momentum into Phoenix, Arizona, where Zack Greinke is awaiting to put an end to the Dodgers’ winning streak. On the bump for the Dodgers is Greinke’s old pitching buddy, Clayton Kershaw, who has put together his most consistent season since the injuries started stacking up.

The Dodgers usually see Greinke fairly well and have had some great outbursts against him. As part of our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak series, here is who we think can provide the offense with at least one base hit on Monday.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 0): Justin Turner

The Los Angeles Dodgers have nearly a .300 average against Zack Greinke in 173 at-bats against the team’s former ace. Of those 173 at-bats, Justin Turner has logged 30 and has been quite successful against his former teammate.

In those 30 at-bats, Turner has 10 hits, six of which are extra-base hits, and six RBIs. Although Turner’s power numbers have been down this season, he is facing someone that usually makes hit bat come alive.

It has been quite some time since Turner has hit a home run as he has transitioned more into a base hit hitter than a power hitter. Because of his numbers against Greinke, we have every reason to believe that Turner can end hit seven-game streak without a home run and hit just his second of the month of June.

He only has seven home runs on the year, three of which came in one game. He is due to add number eight on the season.

And if not, he is at least due for some base hits. Turner is 1-9 in over the last two games, which statistically, means he should be due for a two-hit night on Monday.
