The Los Angeles Dodgers have won 12 games in a row against the Colorado Rockies dating back to last season and look to make it a baker’s dozen.

If you look up pure domination in the dictionary then the first thing that will show up is the Los Angeles Dodgers‘ record against the Colorado Rockies, at least over the last dozen games.

The Dodgers have won 12 games in a row against their division foe dating back to last year, which included some massive games at the end of last season to give the Dodgers their sixth-straight NL West crown. Of course, the biggest coming in Game 163 last year.

After a pair of sweeps, one at Coors Field and one at Dodger Stadium, the Dodgers extended the streak to 12 last night in a back and forth contest in which the Boys in Blue scored four runs in the top of the ninth to pull away.

The biggest hit of the night was Enrique Hernandez‘ pinch-hit, two-out, three-run home run in the top of the ninth to give the Dodgers a four-run cushion into the bottom of the frame. The way the game was going a one-run lead was definitely not safe.

And although Kenley Jansen came in and did not allow a run in the ninth inning, it could have been much different if the Rockies were down by just one and the pressure mounted on Jansen.

The Dodgers got it done and on Friday the team sends 2019’s best pitcher thus far in Hyun-Jin Ryu to make it 13 games. The Dodgers have to like their chances with Ryu and his 1.27 ERA on the mound, although there is a worry that Coors Field could raise that ERA.

Ryu has not allowed more than two earned runs in any of his starts this year, although four unearned runs have been scored in his last two starts.

Either way, the most runs Ryu has allowed in a game is three (two of which were unearned), so the Dodger bats know exactly what they have to put up to get the victory.

And as part of our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak series, here is the Dodger bat that will lead the way and provide at least one base hit on Friday.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 4): Joc Pederson

The Los Angeles Dodgers do not have great numbers against Antonio Senzatela, which includes our selection for Friday’s game, Joc Pederson. Pederson has just one hit in seven at-bats against the right-hander, although that one hit is a double.

Pederson has come under fire a tad recently for his exceptionally poor play at first base but to be fair, he is not a first baseman and this is more of a front office experiment than a permanent move for Pederson. With such a large lead in the standings, I would expect the Dodgers to keep experimenting here and there.

It also has felt like forever since Pederson left the yard. His last home run came eight days ago on June 20 and all in all, the slugging left-handed hitter only has three home runs in the month of June.

Pederson is due for some bombs and there is no better place to hit a bomb than at Coors Field. There is going to be some Joc Pop action tonight, potentially in another lead-off home run.
