After winning 12 games in a row against the Colorado Rockies, the Los Angeles Dodgers now risk losing a four-game series against their NL West foes.

The Los Angeles Dodgers brought an 11-game winning streak against the Colorado Rockies into this weekend’s four-game series at Coors Field. After winning number 12 in a row on Thursday with another ninth-inning home run, fans of both teams were likely expecting it to extend.

However, the Rockies have since started their own winning streak against the Dodgers, albeit it is not quite 12 games yet. The Rockies have won the last two games of the series in a series that has been quite hectic for the Dodgers.

Hyun-Jin Ryu entered Friday’s game not allowing more than two earned runs in a single game thus far this season. The best pitcher in the league got tattoed for the first time all year, allowing seven runs in just nine innings of work.

Clayton Kershaw was sent to the mound on Saturday and actually pitched quite well considering the game was at Coors Field. Kershaw took a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the sixth, where the Rockies scored three runs on some well-placed singles to take a 5-3 lead.

It was one of those starts where Kershaw easily could have pitched seven innings and allowed two runs and the ball just did not roll his way.

The Dodgers are looking to get a bit luckier on Sunday, where the ball is definitely going to be flying at Coors Field with it being an afternoon game. As part of our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak series, here is who we think can provide the offense for Kenta Maeda and the Dodgers.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 6): Chris Taylor

After getting a day off on Saturday, Chris Taylor is primed to have yet another big game on Sunday. Taylor was one of the worst hitters on the Dodgers in the early part of the year but has since been one of the best hitters in the National League and has raised his batting average significantly as a result.

Taylor is hitting .325 over the last 28 days and .444 over the last 14 days with a 1.271 OPS.

Taylor has never faced opposing starting pitcher Chi Chi Gonzalez, who is making the second start of his MLB career. In his first start, Gonzalez allowed three runs in five innings of work.

Taylor is the hottest bat on the Dodgers and despite the righty-righty matchup, he should have some success against the young pitcher.
