The Los Angeles Dodgers continued their march through the baseball season and didn’t seem to lose a step during the month of June.

The Los Angeles Dodgers went 18-10 for the month and extended their lead in the NL West from nine games to 12 before July 1st.

The Dodgers have the best record in baseball they are not without their flaws (that is the sound of millions of Dodgers fans screaming about the bullpen). Despite their flaws, they have the look of a team that takes care of their business on the field win or lose and moves on.

Here are some numbers that made up their June:

.312/.371/.570/.941

That is the slash line for the month of June for Chris Taylor. When Corey Seager went down with a hamstring injury on June 10th, Taylor got more of a starting role he has certainly made the most of his opportunity.

Over the month, Taylor raised his batting average from .229 to .266. Over the last 13 games, Taylor has been swinging a hot bat at near Ruthian levels. He has 11 extra-base hits while driving in 14 runs and batting over .400.

For someone who slumped early and looked out of sorts at the plate, Taylor has elevated his play rapidly.

3.86

The Los Angeles Dodgers bullpen put together their most impressive month of the season collectively recording a 3.86 ERA. That number is was good for second in Major League Baseball for all of June.

Relievers went 9-4 in June, besting their May where they went 3-5. They raised their strikeouts from 61 to 90 and reduced their walks from 33 to 23 despite an increase in innings.

If the Dodgers get into the postseason they’ll want this version of the bullpen to appear rather than the one that has struggled earlier in the season.

46/2

Walker Buehler had himself quite a month, going 3-0 and bringing his ERA down from 3.69 to 2.96 before his last start; a disastrous one in Coors Field that brought it back up to 3.43 (It’s Coors, nobody pitches well there).

Despite his last start, Buehler still has some eye-popping numbers, including striking out 46 batters while walking just two. Buehler has two starts where he had double-digit strikeouts and three starts where he didn’t walk any batters.

The highlight of his month was June 21st when he won a complete game three-hitter against the Colorado Rockies and set a career-high with 16 strikeouts and zero walks.

Next. Dodgers should hold off on trading Keibert Ruiz. dark

Walker Buehler’s month highlights just how many weapons the Los Angeles Dodgers have in their starting rotation.
