The Los Angeles Dodgers have not played at Chavez Ravine in 12 days and return home for a brief home stint starting against the Miami Marlins.

The last time that the Los Angeles Dodgers were at Dodger Stadium the team lost three games in a row heading into the All-Star Break. It was a bit of a bummer as well as the Dodgers were on historic race at home and winning those three would have put them on pace to set the MLB record for home winning percentage.

The Dodgers are still absolutely absurd at home and when compared to modern times, are just as impressive. The Dodgers are 37-12 at Dodger Stadium this year (.755).

The team has a good shot at making that record even better and moving to an ever 40 home wins in the upcoming series. The Dodgers are hosting the Miami Marlins for three games at Dodger Stadium, which based on the records and the Dodgers’ success at home, should be a series the Dodgers easily win.

If the team gets some momentum going heading into a two-game series with the Angels at Dodger Stadium then the Boys in Blue can avenge their June losses and add five wins to the home record.

There is still a long way to go before that as the team has not yet played one of these games. And as part of our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak series, here is who we think can get at least one base hit on Friday.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 3): Max Muncy

Max Muncy has been really really good at working deep into counts, getting on base via base on balls and hitting the occasional moonshot that looks like it is going to leave orbit.

What Muncy has struggled in recently is getting base hits, which is why his batting average is .225 over the last 28 days.

There are reasons to be optimistic though as Muncy is hitting .318 over the last seven days with seven hits in 22 at-bats.

Muncy is starting to turn the corner from a slump that really wasn’t too bad of a slump and is going to be even more motivated after Hector Neris barked at the Dodgers’ dugout on Thursday, which was something that Muncy and his teammates took exception to.

Rookie pitcher Zac Gallen has never faced the Los Angeles Dodgers, giving Muncy the perfect matchup against an inexperience right-hander to get something over the plate and send it halfway up the pavilion.

We don’t need a massive moonshot to extend the streak, but it would be nice to see. Regardless, Muncy is the guy to go with on Friday.
