The Los Angeles Dodgers look to start another winning streak after winning on Friday and must overcome some sluggish offense to do so.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are immensely talented and are one of the best offensive teams in the league. Right now, however, the team is going through a bit of a cold spell over the last few games.

It is nothing to really worry about as this is bound to happen multiple times over the course of a 162-game season and it has happened in brief stints before. Before we know it, they will go on a hot run and score six runs or more per game.

Heck, the offense was good in the opening road trip of the second half and that was not too long ago. They even scored a combined 19 runs in the final two games of the Miami Marlins series at Dodger Stadium. It has just been the last three games that have been sluggish.

The Dodgers scored six combined runs in two losses against the Los Angeles Angels and scored four runs on Friday, three of which came on a late four-run bomb by Justin Turner. After three hits in the first inning, the team only could put together five hits total.

Set to go for the Washington Nationals is Matt Grace, a veteran southpaw that actually does not have a ton of matchups against the Dodgers. And on the bump for the Boys in Blue is none other than Clayton Kershaw.

As part of our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak series, here is who we think can produce at least one base hit to get the offense going behind Kershaw.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 1): A.J. Pollock

After a somewhat slow start to the 2019 season, A.J. Pollock has returned with a bang since being activated off the injured list in the second half. He has cooled down a bit over the last seven games but over his last 15, he is hitting .273 with four home runs and 12 RBIs.

More importantly, Pollock has hit left-handers very well this season, albeit it in a very small sample size. In 45 plate appearances against southpaws, Pollock has a .390 batting average and a .981 OPS.

Pollock has one lifetime at-bat against Grace without a hit, so there really are no matchup numbers there to make a decision.

However, with Pollock being in the three-spot today, he is going to get a ton of chances to produce more runs for the Dodgers are is going to come up big with a multi-RBI day.
