The Los Angeles Dodgers suffered an ugly loss at the hands of the Colorado Rockies on Monday as the offense looks to wake back up at Coors Field.

After winning the first two games against the Washington Nationals, the Los Angeles Dodgers had an ugly loss and were not able to secure the sweep. However, going on the road and winning two against the Nationals was still a big win.

The Dodgers looked to do the same to the Colorado Rockies heading into this three-game series but the team did not get off on the right foot. For the second consecutive game, the Dodgers suffered an ugly loss and lost by a score of 9-1.

Kenta Maeda looked fantastic early on but a five-run fifth inning derailed his chances of having a good start. The game seemed all but over at that point as the Dodger bats were far from impressive and overall, the team registered just two base hits.

The offense is definitely going to have to turn it around on Tuesday as the Dodgers turn to what will likely be a bullpen game. Young phenom Julio Urias is getting the start on the mound but because of the team’s desire to limit his innings pitched, five innings appears to be his absolute max.

Urias has quietly been putting together an elite year with a 2.34 ERA, which includes a 3.18 ERA as a starter in five starts.

Urias has allowed three runs in six and two-thirds innings pitched at Coors Field, which is not all that bad. If he can get through five innings and allow two or fewer runs then there is no reason why the Dodgers cannot win this game.

As part of our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak series, this is who we think can record at least one base hit and wake up this sleeping offense.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 2): Justin Turner

The Los Angeles Dodgers should have a big offensive day and if the team doesn’t then it is going to be extremely disappointed. Not only is the team playing at Coors Field, but they are coming up against a guy who has a 7.00 ERA and allows the Dodgers to hit at a .368 clip against him.

The most impressive numbers against Freeland belong to Justin Turner, who sees the southpaw exceptionally well.

In 23 at-bats against Freeland, Turner has 12 hits, four of which are extra-base hits. Surprisingly, he does not have a home run and only has two RBIs against Freeland. If anything, though, his numbers prove that he is the table-setter when facing Freeland.

That makes Turner the perfect selection for Tuesday. The Dodgers need someone to get the offense going early on to ensure that the rest of the game is going to follow suit. Turner will start that trend with an early base hit that sets the table for the offense to have a good night.
