The Los Angeles Dodgers are set to begin a 10-game homestand on Thursday night that might propel the team into an even higher stratosphere.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been exceptional at home this season and since the All-Star Break, the team has not been home that often. The team has 13 games on the road opposed to five home games since the break and finally give the fans an extended homestand to go out and see.

The Dodgers are starting a 10-game homestand on Thursday against the San Diego Padres. The homestand includes a three-game series against San Diego, a four-game series against St. Louis and a three-game series against Arizona.

The Dodgers have been exceptional at home this season so this homestand gives the team a chance to establish an even wider margin in the standings. It is not crazy to think that the Dodgers can go 8-2 or better in this homestand, although they did lose their last three to San Diego at Dodger Stadium.

Regardless, the team is starting the homestand in one of the best ways possible by having Clayton Kershaw on the mound. Unfortunately, the Dodgers are facing off against Joey Lucchesi.

Lucchesi is one of those mediocre pitchers that can have a stellar game against the Dodgers. We will know early on whether the Dodgers will get baffled by him or if he will have a short outing.

It really could go either way — Lucchesi is going to spin a gem or get lit up, there will be no in-between. And as part of our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak series, here is who we think can get at least one base hit to make sure he gets lit up.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 0): Tyler White

Max Muncy burned me yesterday and ended my streak so instead of going with a left-handed-hitting infielder, I am going with a right-handed-hitting infielder. No, it is not going to be Justin Turner, it is going to be new Dodger, Tyler White.

The logic here is kind of flawed but just go with me. White has never faced Joey Lucchesi so he is not going to have a worried mindset going into his at-bat. Ignorance is bliss in this situation and he is going to get something to hit and deliver in his first game at Dodger Stadium as a Dodger.

That is another reason to go with White. It seems like the new Dodgers, whether they be rookies or external additions, always have great showings in their first appearance at Dodger Stadium.

The same will be said for White, who will have a multi-hit game in front of the home fans that will include an extra-base hit and an RBI.
