Out of the old existing young core, Kyle Kuzma is the only one remaining on the Los Angeles Lakers and looks to have a big 2019 season.

The promise of having a young core to build towards is no longer a thing for the Los Angeles Lakers. Instead of only looking towards the future on what could be, the team is now looking at the year in front of them and how they can realistically win the NBA Title.

The Lakers traded Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart to the New Orleans Pelicans for Anthony Davis, effectively ending the team’s young core that also once included Julius Randle, Jordan Clarkson, Larry Nance Jr and D’Angelo Russell.

Kyle Kuzma is now the last man remaining from the young core as he enters his third season in the league, which is going to be drastically different from his first two years. This is not a case of the Pelicans not wanted Kuzma either, as the Los Angeles Lakers were determined to keep Kuzma during the trade talks.

Because of the team’s desire to keep him around, Kuzma has some high expectations heading into the 2019 season. He no longer is a young player that is looking to develop his game and one day be a star.

He is now right in the thick of a title-contending team that is on a mission to restore the legacy back into the Lakers franchise.

Kuzma certainly is one of the players to watch in the league because of this dynamic. Here are three bold predictions for Kuzma as he enters his third season.
