The Melvin Gordon saga continues to grow new legs as the Los Angeles Chargers are now allowing Gordon to seek potential trading partners.

On the same day that the Houston Texans traded Jadeveon Clowney, reports surfaced that the Los Angeles Chargers are allowing Gordon to seek a potential trade partner of his own.

This is just yet another turn in the Melvin Gordon saga that has been ongoing since late-July. In what is becoming a trend with running backs in the NFL, Gordon has sat out of activities, wanting a new contract from the Los Angeles Chargers.

Gordon is in the last year of his rookie deal and is set to make $5 million this season, making him one of the most criminally underpaid guys in the league.

Reports surfaced early that the Chargers offered Gordon a contract in the $10 million per year, which would have made him the fourth-highest paid running back this season. However, Gordon declined and now we are where we are.

There is still a chance that either Gordon or the Chargers budge and Gordon plays the 2019 season in LA. At the end of the day, the Chargers have the last say in the matter, not Gordon.

So while Gordon can seek out potential trades, it still has to be something that makes sense for the Chargers. They need a decent return and they preferably should not trade to another AFC Super Bowl contender (sorry, Houston).

Here are three teams that make sense for the Chargers to do business with.
