The Los Angeles Dodgers are not playing up to their own standards and have dropped three games in a row to the Arizona Diamondbacks.

For the third night in a row, the Los Angeles Dodgers blew a 3-0 lead on Saturday night and wound up losing 6-5 to the Arizona Diamondbacks. This three-game losing streak is part of a 10-game span in which the Dodgers are 4-6.

It is understandable as to why this is happening. We are in that awkward stage where the division is all but wrapped up but the Dodgers are still a month away from October. What fills in the gap is a month’s worth of games that can feel meaningless.

We saw a much worse version of this happen in 2017 and every Dodger fan is hoping that this year will not be a repeat offense. The Dodgers are still vying for home-field advantage in the World Series and could even lose home-field advantage in the NL to the Braves if they are not careful.

The Dodgers have just a four and a half-game lead on the Braves in the National League. With how good the Dodgers are at home, having home-field advantage is extremely important and losing that to the Braves would be brutal.

The best thing to do is put the last three games in the past and just hope to turn it around on Sunday, which could lead into a positive home series against the Colorado Rockies.

Ross Stripling gets the ball for the Dodgers in his return from the injured list and as part of our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak series, here is who we think can provide some of the offensive support and get at least one base hit.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 0): A.J. Pollock

I literally said yesterday that it does not matter how hot he is, Enrique Hernandez always screws me over in this series. I still picked him anyway and my six-game hitting streak ended as he went 0-3 on the night.

Now I hope to build a new streak back up by going with former Diamondback himself, A.J. Pollock. However, unlike his matchup with Ray, Pollock is not facing one of his old teammates.

On the mound for the Diamondbacks is Alex Young, a rookie southpaw that is holding Dodger hitters to a .238 average against. Not so bad for an inexperienced left-handed pitcher.

However, that won’t change much for Pollock, who is playing in his last game at Chase Field in 2019 and is going to look to leave his old fans with something to remember.

We won’t just get a base hit out of Pollock on Sunday. We will get a multi-hit effort that even sees him leave the yard.
