Danny Green is a two-time NBA Champion and is the most notable role player that the Los Angeles Lakers signed this summer.

When Kawhi Leonard decided to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers instead of the Los Angeles Lakers, the Lakers had to find a way to spend $32 million in cap space while also filling out a roster that at the time was depleted.

The problem for the Lakers was that most of the marquee role players on the market were already signed as the team had to wait over a week for Leonard’s decision. While the situation looked bleak, the Lakers actually did a great job of rounding out the roster, which was aided by signing the best remaining role player available.

That best remaining option was Danny Green, who was just coming off of his second NBA Title alongside Kawhi Leonard, this time with the Toronto Raptors. Green signed a two-year, $30 million contract with the Lakers, making him the third-highest paid player on the team.

When you think of LeBron James‘ teammates the first player mold that comes into mind is the three and D specialist. If you look up a three and D specialist in the imaginary basketball dictionary, a picture of Danny Green, among others, would appear.

For that reason, along with the fact that he has about as much playoff experience as you could get, makes him the perfect offseason addition for the Lakers.

Laker fans should be excited to see Green in action over the next two years. Here are our three bold predictions for him in his first year in LA.
